SilkenFest 2009 race meet winner and new, first, only SRCX III
In a rematch of SilkenFest ‘08’s exciting race meet, Teddy turned the tables on Pride winning the meet with
one tied race and two first place finishes. Teddy changed his usual race strategy by moving ahead early in
the race and finished the last two races comfortably ahead of the other racers.

The High Point race in the first program (SF ’09) sported an impressive group of racers. Teddy, the 2009 winner, was in the #1 jacket while the #2 jacket belonged to Czar (Kristull Jaromir owned by Mike and Cathy Leach), winner of the SilkenFest race meet in 2006. #3 jacket was Pride (Siendo's American Pride owned by Beth and Emily Alexander), SilkenFest race winner in 2008. River (Lagniappe Shadow on the Teche (owned by Hutsie and Don Brown), 2007's SilkenFest race winner, wore the #4 jacket.
First Silken Windhound SRCX II
Teddy added to his laurels in January 2009 at a weekend of racing given by the Silken Windhounds of California. In a field of 18 on Saturday and 17 on Sunday, Teddy turned in two more first place finishes. Saturday’s win made Teddy the first Silken Windhound to earn the SRCX II racing title.
Teddy was #1 Straight Racing Silken in 2008 with a record-breaking 44 National Points. Sister Phoenix and brother Helios tied for 6th place with 10.75 National Points each.
Silken Windhounds held their inaugural Oval Track Racing meet in November of 2008. In a field of 9 Teddy finished in first place for 3 points towards an oval racing championship.
Teddy earned his SRCX at SilkenFest '08. Teddy is shown here sharing the limelight with (left to right) ISWS Race Director Mike Leach, ISWS Registrar Bobbie Deis and his chauffeur.

New SRCX! Teddy is the youngest windhound to earn his SRCX. In fabulous neck-and-neck racing, Teddy was bested by Pride at the National in two out of three races. Nonetheless, our boy placed second out of 38 racers at SilkenFest.

Our handsome young man grows up - Teddy at eighteen months
Teddy has been a quick study at everything he’s tried. He finished his Rarities championship at eleven months and started racing soon after his first birthday. He earned his SRC racing title in less than two months with all first place finishes. Although he had only three months in which to race, Teddy took third place in the Top ISWS Racing Silken Windhounds in 2007.

Teddy at six weeks contemplating the remains of a jackalure
I’m thrilled to have littermates from Joyce Chin’s “Mythos” litter. Talisman’s Ursa Major (Teddy) and Talisman’s Phoenix Fire (Phoenix) moved from Northern California to the cooler, wetter climes of the Pacific Northwest at the tender age of three months. They quickly adapted and found they loved the surprise of snow and that rain was no reason to stay inside.
Teddy’s a confident little guy and has been happy to try both agility and obedience. I can reliably say that he really likes agility. Teddy is co-owned with Joyce Chin of Talisman Hounds.
